What is Rollology?
ROLLOLOGY, developed by Second Generation Master Pilates Instructor Alyson Limehouse, is a cutting edge discipline that starts with the core using a foam roller. The ROLLOLOGY technique stems from the Feldenkreis method and Pilates, which work together by stretching and strengthening the abdominals to properly align and support the body for optimal posture.
ROLLOLOGY is for all ages, body types and athletic levels. Not only does this method create longer, leaner muscles and better support for the body, it is therapeutic for those with injury. Today’s society is very sedentary with the constant rise of technology. More and more people are developing upper and lower back issues due to the daily use of computers, smart phones, tablets and even driving, causing the body to become hunched over. Using ROLLOLOGY counteracts this issue by forcing the head, neck and shoulders into a more open and forward position.
If looking to tighten the abs or strengthen the core quickly and safely, Rollology is the best method to use. Rollology focuses on correct form in all stages, which yields better results and prevents injury. Not only does Rollology combat visceral (deep) fat, it combats subcutaneous fat, which lies right under the skin. A Licensed Rollologist is skilled to help connect the mind, body, and core in perfect alignment to maximize results. Rollology creates a long lean, curvy physique for women. For men, it creates flexibility, and more mobility in the shoulders and lower back. Both genders will benefit from Rollology. They will have flatter abs, and a sexier, more symmetrical body. Instead of bulky equipment, the roller is portable, and you can take it just about anywhere. It is great for long car rides and to take with you so you look good before a special event. For example, if you’re driving to your sister’s wedding, you can take the Rollology roller and use it to relieve your back and neck from driving, do your Rollology exercises, and correct your posture, so you look good in lifelong memorable photos. After you take one Rollology class, not only will you feel incredible, you will look amazing.

Alyson Limehouse, Founder of Rollology
Alyson Limehouse was first introduced to Pilates by her midwife in 1997, after giving birth to her daughter. One year later, she became a client at Praxis Pilates Studio in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, where she instantly fell in love with Pilates training. That same year, Alyson traveled to Polestar Pilates in Miami, Florida where she received Rehabilitation Training, and became a certified Pilates Instructor, and also received certification at Bodyworks Fitness in Raleigh, North Carolina. She returned to South Carolina where she worked at the Praxis Studio in as an instructor.
In 2000, Alyson relocated to the beautiful island of Palm Beach, Florida where she opened Sunset Pilates Fitness. She has conducted various workshops throughout the country, including Florida, South Carolina, and Arizona, while also continuing her own education. Invited by Pilates Elder Lolita San Miguel to be one of the first 12 to attend the Mater’s Mentor Certification Program, Alyson became certified as a 2nd Generation Master Instructor. Lolita is of only one of two people that Joseph Pilates personally certified before he passed away in 1967.
Alyson is very passionate about art of sculpting the body through a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training, which improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. Alyson created Rollology so that anybody can have a safe and effective work out that is affordable.
Alyson began working with the human body at the College of Charleston in the Fine Arts program. Alyson was intrigued with the human body, and found herself manipulating it through drawings and paintings throughout her studies. After graduating college with honors, Alyson found herself taking Pilates classes at Praxis Studio, where she fell in love with the Pilates Method. Once Alyson opened Sunset Pilates in 2002, she began intensely working with the upper 1% and the privileged of Palm Beach. Alyson was currently making up to $175 per 50 minute session. She had an epiphany that most people, including her friends, had a hard time affording quality Pilates. So, she came up with taking the foam roller she had been working with for 15 years, and developed a safe and affordable program that everybody can do. After she saw the results of her new client-base, she realized there was another market. After setting up her own certification programs for Pilates, Alyson realized that most people could not afford the cost, and the time requirement to complete the 500 hour Pilates certification course. After eight years of developing the Rollology class, and two years of developing the training, the time has finally come for others to help spread this innovative method across the world.
